I stayed there during my 4 days trip with Amazon Gero Tours. Me and my friends chose the budget option so we we sleeping in hammocks which proved to be very comfortable. Our 'hammocks dorm' was very simple, just wooden walls and bathroom in the middle of the jungle but staying there at night was really awesome. Dorm hammocks you are willing to spend a little bit extra, the Eno hammock is fantastic, but the Himal hammock is much cheaper and fits perfectly under a dorm bed. Dorm hammocks Tramatzu. So I am thinking about moving my bunkbed which takes up half of my living space out of my dorm room and replacing it with a hammock. I want to have it suspended with some sort of hooks or anchors from the wall. My walls here are concrete blocks. Any Ideas? Really dont want a hammock stand. I like the idea of easily being able to put the hammock away and have nothing in the way.

I think I would go away from a traditional stand and design something using two vertical 4x4 with a top cap that spans the top and a couple side braces. You'd remove the stuff on the ground to clear up the clutter. Just use some eye bolts with the nut countersunk on the back side to not scuff the wall. We then used chains and lifted our beds 6 feet offthe floor. Worked great. Never had a problem with it and it greatly opened up our floor space.
I would think you could use the same concept to make a frame that could hold hammocks. Just make sure you bring in a couch for when you don't want to or can't climb into the hammock I built a stand that might work for you.
It was made hanging indoors over a futon. Convertible sleeping arrangements. I used a patio swing and expanded it with some chain-link fence tubing. That looks great.
Very creative. My son's set-up was to leave the bed set-up as a bunk bed, put the mattress on the floor, use the bed itself as a high storage shelf and hang a hammock diagonally on the bunk frame. He's 6'3" and that worked for him. He used carabiners to attach the hammock to the frame and would just disconnect one end of the hammock when he wasn't hanging around in it so he could also use the mattress.

I'd say try it and find out! You could probably hang it with 7' feet but I don't know how comfortable it would be.

For those book nerds out there like me I enjoy to curl up in my hammock with a good book for an hour or two. Right now my favorite go-to hammock time book is Love Does by Bob Goff. This book talks about how to live your life full of whimsy. It takes any sleepover and makes it more exciting since instead of sneakily searching for snacks in the middle of the night you will be adventuring to find a place to sleep! You want to make it casual and not awkward, but really how many options do you have that involves getting closer to him or her without making it weirdly obvious?
Hanging out in a hammock is probably the only idea I have so why not try it out for yourself!
